Oscar is quickly becoming the cutest kid on the planet #totallybiased.  He is such a happy little guy and super go-with-the-flow.  We always thought Walt was a pretty laid back baby, but Oscar is even more so! He’s content awake or asleep. He can easily go four hours between feedings (though I still keep it to three), but he rarely gets cranky because he’s hungry.  The only times he really gets upset if he’s sleepy, but as long as we put him to sleep pretty quickly, he’s perfectly fine.

As I was about to write this post, I went back and read about Walt at 3 months. It’s a good thing I did, or I’d sound like I copied and pasted everything.  Oscar is doing much of what Walt did at 3 months. Here are some highlights:

• He has found his hands (like big bro!) – he loves staring at them, and really like sucking on his hand or arm
• He likes making noises – he especially loves to have non-sensical conversations with anyone who will play along
• Almost laughing – occasionally we get a half giggle out of him, but usually he smiles REAL big then breathes all the way out until all that’s left is a funny little squeak. He’s either working on his laugh, or that IS his laugh and we need to prepare him for some ridicule
• He eats about 6 oz each feeding (though I’m gradually sending him to school with a generous 6 oz) and who knows what he’s stockpiling when I nurse him in the a.m. and p.m.
• We still swaddle him, but I think those days are numbered. Refer to bullet #1 where he like to suck on his hands.
• Oscar no longer eats in the middle of the night. He sleeps roughly 7p-7a, but still has some early morning wake-ups that we hope fade away soon (those don’t mesh well with my early alarm to get ready for work)
• Oscar takes 3 solid naps a day (anywhere from 1-2 hours) and often takes a little 30 min. catnap after we pick him up from school.

I feel like he got real big and chunky this month 🙂
